Intertek launches mobile textile testing lab in Mumbai

The mobile lab will help manufacturers meet ever-increasing customer demand for high-quality apparel products

Intertek, a quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, has launched the first-ever mobile textile testing lab, Indati. Intertek developed Indati (the lab on wheels) to help manufacturers meet ever-increasing customer demand for high-quality apparel products, while delivering the convenience of on-site testing. The mobile lab was launched on May 7, 2014, in Mumbai.
 
Intertek’s mobile textile testing lab will serve retailers, brands and manufacturers of adult apparel, children’s apparel, fashion accessories and household textiles to ensure that their products meet safety, regulatory, quality and performance standards.
 
Rajesh Saigal, Regional Managing Director, Intertek, South Asia, said, “India’s apparel industry is a major contributor to the country’s economy demonstrating consistent growth over the last decade. Intertek is dedicated to support the increasing demand for textile testing in India. The Lab on Wheels is a unique concept that will help support Indian retailers to realise testing cost efficiencies and also provide access to quality testing of their products at their doorstep. The home delivered support will help of manufacturers improve competencies and also enhance acceptability with global brands.”
