For the second time in last two months, Insilco Ltd has announced a shutdown of its plant due to lack demand and high inventory. Insilco informed BSE that the company's plant will remain shut down from January 25, 2014 to February 06, 2014 due to high inventory and low sales volume. The company has also announced its plans to carry out routine preventive maintenance and cleaning during this time.

In December last year, Insilco Limited, a group company of Germany-based Evonik Industries, informed that its Gajraula plant in Uttar Pradesh would remain closed from December 20, 2013 to January 15, 2014. The plant was eventually restarted on January 9, 2014.
