Man from Ajmer held, 1 kg of heroin

A 32-year-old alleged drug trafficker has been arrested and 1 kg heroin worth about Rs 1 crore recovered from him.

According to the police, Ramdhan Mali, a resident of Ajmer, Rajasthan, was arrested on Saturday by the Crime Branch of Delhi police after it received a tip-off.

"A specific input was received that one Ramdhan, who is indulging in trafficking of heroin in Delhi after procuring the same from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh would come near Peeragarhi Metro Station between 2 PM to 3 PM to deliver a big consignment to a contact," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
 

Following the tip-off, a trap was laid and at around 2:30 PM, Mali was apprehended along with 1 Kg of heroin from his possession, said Yadav.

Efforts are on to trace the source of supply of the contraband, police said.
