Siemens Ltd has inaugurated one of the most advanced test centres at Kalwa Works, off Mumbai. Advanced Motor Test Center is the fully automated test centre housing 8 test benches capable of testing motors in the wide range of 120 W to 3000 kW. The Indian electrical equipment industry has witnessed a host of changes in recent years including adoption of new standards for efficiency for industrial motors. This also has given rise to new testing methods for efficiency calculation as well.

Awaiting accreditation from National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), the test center is established as per global testing standards and is the most advanced test center as on date across the Siemens organisation.
