US-based Connell Brothers acquires ingredient distributor Mascot Universal

Connell Brothers (CBC), a division of the US-based Wilbur-Ellis Company that focuses on marketing and distribution of specialty chemicals and ingredients, has acquired of the personal & health care ingredients distribution business of the Mumbai-based Mascot Universal Pvt Ltd.
 
Rising per capita income and rapid urbanisation are leading to increase in demand for beauty and personal care products in India. Through this deal, Connell Brothers is planning to tap the growing market of personal and health care ingredients in the country.
 
Mascot Universal, founded in 1969 by its chairman Mohan Lalvani, has warehousing facility dedicated to in Delhi (spread over 2500 sq ft) and Mumbai (10000 sq ft). Mohit Lalvani and his team will join CBC and lead the newly named Mascot Personal and Health Care Business Unit, under Connell Bros Company (India) Pvt Ltd.
 
Tejas Parekh, general manager of CBC, India, said, “Mascot Universal places an emphasis on marketing excellence and technical competency, making the company a strategic fit for CBC and our growth plans.”
