Water industry offers exciting opportunities: Dr Sudhir Krishna

The Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) is taking steps to improve sewage & drainage infrastructure and is encouraging water reuse & recycling in the city, said Dr Sudhir Krishna, Secretary, MoUD, during inauguration of EverythingAboutWater Expo yesterday at NSIC Ground, Okhla, New Delhi.
 
Speaking about various initiatives of the Ministry for enhancing the water & wastewater management systems in the city, Dr Krishna said, “The water industry offers exciting opportunities. The Ministry has made special efforts to provide funding and resources to take ideas and new technologies for water & wastewater management ahead. The key areas for the MoUD are mobility planning, developing better sewage & drainage infrastructure management policies and enforcing local water reuse & recycling options to reduce the consumption of fresh water in the city.”
 
The inaugural session was also attended by Dr Richard Woodling, Operating Partner CLSA capital partner, Singapore; Bhamble, Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Greater Mumbai and Jos Paques, Founder, Paques Holding.
 
The 11th edition of the EverythingAboutWater Expo & Conference, to be held from January 9-11, 2014, is jointly organised by EA Water Pvt Ltd and ASSOCHAM.
 
Niten Mehta, Global Head & CEO, EverythingAboutWater, said, “For the past decade the event has grown with the aim of bringing global technologies under one roof.
