Xpro India commences production at BOPP film plant in WB

The plant, built with an investment of about Rs 200 crore, will produce specialised polymer films used in electronic and electrical devices

Xpro India Ltd - a part of the Sidharth Birla-controlled Birla Group, which also owns Digjam company – has informed BSE that it has started commercial production at its new BOPP dielectric (capacitor) film unit at Barjora, West Bengal, from today. The plant, built with an investment of Rs 200 crore, will produce polymer films of a certain thickness, an import substitute and utilised in electronic and electrical devices.
 
Biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) dielectric films are specially designed polypropylene films manufactured by the tenter process on highly specialised equipment in controlled environmental & ultra clean room conditions for a wide range of applications in the capacitors industry.
