A youth sexually molested an 11- year-old girl in Depalpur town near here and also threatened her, police said today.
The accused, Sohan Kalouta, is absconding after committing the crime yesterday. The 25-year-old lured the girl into his house and sexually abused her, they said.
He also threatened to harm the victim if she revealed about the incident to anyone, according to the complaint filed by her family.
However, the girl later narrated her ordeal to her parents following which a complaint was filed in Depalpur Police Station.
A case under IPC Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act has been registered against Kalouta.
A search is on to nab him, police added.
