Autodesk launches an open software platform for 3D printing
Spark software aims to democratise design technology and make it accessible for every manufacturer

Along with Spark launch, Autodesk also showcased its own 3D printer that helps as a reference implementation for Spark. It demonstrated the power and potential of the Spark platform that can create new benchmarks of 3D printing user experience. These powerful innovations from Autodesk has the capability to provide the building blocks that product designers, hardware manufacturers, software developers and materials scientists can use to explore new paradigms of 3D printing technology.

Spark is an open and freely licensable to hardware manufacturers. The complete design of the Autodesk 3D printer will be made publicly available to allow for further development and experimentation. The printer will be able to use a broad range of materials, made by Autodesk and others.
