HCL Technologies has formed partnerships with the US-based Movimento and Finland-based Rightware - two of the leading automotive solution providers - to expand its offerings for the fast-growing smart vehicle ecosystem. Working to enhance HCL’s existing smart mobility and vehicle engineering services, alliances are expected to bring added services to HCL’s clients.

“In the automotive sector, HCL’s services are centered around the four key areas driving industry innovation: efficiency, safety, autonomous driving and personalisation. As part of our commitment to providing next-generation services, we look for partners with technologies that will help us in serving the industry’s transformation. With Movimento and Rightware, we have found solutions that enable the design and creation of the intelligent vehicles that are poised to change the industry,” said GH Rao, president - engineering and R&D services, HCL Technologies.

Movimento, a leading provider of over-the-air (OTA) update solutions for automotive solution providers, serves car manufacturers such as Ford, GM, FCA and Volvo as well as a wide range of tier-I suppliers including ZF, Bosch, Denso, Panasonic, Continental, Delphi, Visteon, Magna and others. The partnership between Movimento and HCL will offer automotive lifecycle management, updates and support for on- and off-board software.

HCL’s partnership with Rightware, a leader in advanced user interface (UI) technology for automotive applications, will enable HCL to help automotive solution providers and tier-I manufacturers with all aspects of advanced UI creation, including design, development, systems integration, deployment and support.

According to a recent McKinsey & Company report, software competence is becoming an important industry differentiator in such areas as automobile safety systems, Internet connectivity and infotainment. By helping the automotive and transportation industry bring innovative products and solutions to market faster, these services are positioned to help clients differentiate themselves in the marketplace. HCL’s work with Movimento and Rightware are the latest additions to the company’s IoT WoRKS partner system, which already includes Intel, IBM and Microsoft.
