Jain Irrigation bags Rs 473 cr contract for solar pump

Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd (JISL) has bagged the largest ever solar agri pump tenders for Rs 473 crore from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company’s (MSEDCL) for supply and installation of 8,959 solar agri-pumps.
 
This is the first pilot phase out of the world’s biggest solar agri-pump project for 500,000 pumps launched by Government of Maharashtra through MSEDCL.
 
"Over the last few years, Jain Irrigation, which is the only manufacturer of complete DC solar agri-pump systems in the world, has installed more than 15,000 solar agri-pump sets across India in 8-9 states, which is more than 50 percent of the total installations in the country till date," said JISL in a press release.
