Sutlej Textiles to expand home textiles division; shuts fabric unit

The company will invest Rs 88.5 crores in Damanganga Home Textiles at Daheli (Gujarat) to increase its capacities from 2.5 million metres per annum to 9.6 million metres

As part of its growth strategy, Sutlej Textiles and Industries Ltd (STIL), a leading manufacturer of value added synthetic, cotton and blended yarns, fabrics & home textiles, has decided to shutdown its fabric division and focus on its home textiles business. As a part of this exercise, Sutlej Textiles has announced the closure of the operations of one of the company’s unit - Damanganga Fabrics at Daheli in Bhilad (Gujarat) - in view of its uneconomic working.
 
At the same time, Sutlej Textiles has decided to expand operations of its Damanganga Home Textiles at Daheli (Gujarat) at a cost of Rs 88.50 crore. The project will be implemented in FY 15-16 and the same will result in increasing its capacities in existing facility to 9.6 million metres per annum (PA) from 2.5 million metres PA.
 
The company’s decision to expand operations in home textile division will ensure further strengthening of its end to end operations - yarns to home textile.
