VA Tech Wabag bags Rs 580-cr wastewater treatment project in Bahrain

The company won the sewage treatment plant (STP) order, its first EPC order in Bahrain, for Al Madina Al Shamaliya

VA Tech Wabag Ltd, along with their joint venture (JV) partner Belhasa Projects, has bagged an Rs 580-crore EPC order for sewage treatment plant (STP) in Bahrain.
 
The company won the STP order for Al Madina Al Shamaliya, the new town being developed in Bahrain. The project is funded by Abu Dhabi Fund for Economic Development (ADFD). Wabag will design & build the 40MLD Al Madina Al Shamaliya sewage treatment plant for Ministry of Housing Bahrain, said VA Tech Wabag in a press release.
 
The STP plant, with tertiary filtration and sludge treatment using aerobic digestion and thermal drying, will cater to the entire irrigation water requirements for all the 13 islands of Al Madina Al Shamaliya. This is the first EPC order for Wabag in Bahrain.
