Fire at Nutraplus' Tarapur factory to affect production

Restoration work of production facilities is expected to take at least three to six months

Fire at Nutraplus' Tarapur factory to affect production

Nutraplus Products India Ltd, a manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates, has informed BSE that a major fire broke out on August 3, 2014 in one of the factories of the company situated at Tarapur, Thane (Maharashtra) has damaged the main machineries of the plant. This is likely to have an impact on the company’s production schedule.
 
It is expected that restoration of production facilities, after carrying out major repairing and construction of factory premises, will take at least three to six months time. During the restoration of the facilities, the overall production of Nutraplus Products is expected to remain at 60% of the present production capacity of the company as a whole.
