Gail seeks technology to convert waste plastics into fuels

The company is seeking proposals from companies, who have proven technology to convert waste plastics obtained from municipal solid waste into valuable fuels

Gail India, one of the largest manufactures of polyolefin polymers in India with an installed capacity of 4.1 lakh tonnes, is reportedly looking for technology for chemical recycling (conversion) of waste plastics to valuable fuels. The company is seeking proposals from companies, who have proven technology to convert plastics waste obtained from municipal solid waste into fuels.
 
According to the terms of the condition (available on the Gail website), the technology should have at least one proven operating plant with a feed waste plastics processing capacity of minimum 5 MTPD operating successfully on continuous basis in India/abroad. The technology provider should be capable of providing basic design package of proven performance for the process to convert waste plastics to valuable fuels and associated equipment including feed waste plastics preparation.
