Innovative and creative thinking can be defined as the ability to transcend traditional thoughts and tactics and develop original and novel approaches. The process of infusing new concepts and ideas to meaningfully improve something is often the implementation of creativity. Saurabh Timochin, a marketing professional is an advocate of creative thinking and hopes to inspire others to find their creative spark via his page Kreative Reef. In conversation with him, he told us that he believes that creativity is a key skill that is essential to effective problem solving, personal growth and personal expression.    

A creative approach to problem-solving or life, in general, could be seen as visionary or philosophical,  However, Saurabh Timochin asserted the idea that, “Creativity is a skill that we all possess and it is creative ingenuity that has advanced society. “We have excavated metals from under the earth, that we have constructed satellites and launched into space, mixed colours to produce famous works of art, and connected computer code to produce artificial intelligence.” Says Saurabh.

All evolution, all greater understanding, and all advancement depends on creativity. We are a part of this grand unfolding, improving this world through our contributions. A creative mentality is a valuable skill to cultivate, whether on a large scale, like repairing our seas, or smaller size, like playing with playdough to the delight of your young niece.

In today's corporate environment, originality and unique thinking are highly regarded. An inventive mindset is a foundation for improving or challenging the status quo. The ability to stay current with technology developments while injecting creativity into your work. Creative thinking is really about raising modern consciousness and challenging social standards. “Design thinking is a creative method of problem-solving,” according to Saurabh Timochin. Encapsulating them in an understandable visual message uses visual components to convey a designer's concept and insights.

Everyone has an artistic side; however, the means of expression may vary. A designer or artist has a keen sense of creativity. It is inherent, as was previously stated, yet it may be developed with the appropriate approaches and viewpoints. Saurabh shares how to work towards developing a creative process. Asking "Why does this happen?" or "Why does this work the way it does?”. It's a method of investigation. Becoming curious about how things operate, what makes them special, and how they fit into the bigger picture are the most potent questions one can ask in today’s era of instant easy gratification. However, making a list of your dreams is a close second. Have you ever experienced a dream with a great plot, lots of action, and amazing images, only to forget the entire dream by noon? This is why it is known that dreams have a tremendous amount of creative potential.

Thirdly, time management is the best practice to help you become meticulous. Keep track of time without being distracted by notifications. Feel the air and make expressive gestures towards unveiling ideas and brainstorming new inventions. See how colors in the wild combine to make beautiful scenes and other things that are only noticed by futuristic minds. Notice the way the wind rustles through the leaves. Hear the birds, the sounds of waves, the song of nature. Try feeling the contrast between smooth and rough. Feel the strength of a stick vs. the pliability of a flower petal. Taste bitter and sweet flavors, savory, sour, and salty. Smell the air, the flowers, and the earth after a good rain. Practice Meditation to try and pull out ideas from deep within.
