Sanjivani Pharmacy aims to ramp up presence in 14 tier-II & tier-III cities in 2020-21
Sanjivani is looking to ramp up its presence across the country and is aiming to set up 200 stores by the end of 2020-21
The Corona virus pandemic has fuelled demand for preventive and curative medicines, with greater focus on personalised and door to door delivery of pharmaceutical equipments as well as drugs.
As dependency on drugs has increased post the nation-wide lockdown, Sanjivani Pharmacy, a major retailer and distributor of drugs since 2006, has opened more than 50 stores as part of its nation-wide chain, during the first quarter of the current fiscal, i.e. between April and June 2020-21. These stores have come up mainly in those towns and cities where the wherewithal to supply medicines is negligible.
Considering the fact that the infection has shown no signs of letting up, Sanjivani is looking to ramp up its presence across the country and is aiming to set up 200 stores by the end of 2020-21.
The main focus of the retail chain is to expand its footprint in 14 Tier II and Tier III towns and cities, as its chairperson Mayank Garg feels that there is no proper infrastructure to provide affordable medicines at people’s doorsteps in these places.
The company specialises in providing a large variety of medicines as well as medicinal equipments and since the Covid-19 triggered pandemic forced people all over the country to stay within the confines of their homes, Sanjivani Pharmacy used the opportunity to expand its presence by opening up its franchise stores in places with poor or negligible retail or distribution network.
In addition to this, Sanjivani Pharmacy, which came up in 2006, provided personalised services with ‘No-minimum orders delivery’ & ‘early morning or late night special shifts’ to help facilitate essential medicines to people in need, with minimum wastage of time.
The company specialises in providing affordable and quality healthcare to people and Mr Mayank Garg informs that it offers an array of allopathic, homoeopathic, Ayurvedic, surgical as well as cosmetic products.
The new stores opened by Sanjivani Pharmacy on franchise model, have helped reach out to the remotest corners of the country, especially keeping in mind the fact that there is no lack of availability of medicines in such crucial times.
To ensure this, the company is working on an innovative model called ‘fast door-to-door service’ under which customers are provided medicines within an hour of placing their orders.
With its vast experience in offering world class solutions and services in the field of pharmaceutical retail and distribution, the company has successfully emulated the franchise model by offering small retailers all over the country, an opportunity to associate themselves with Sanjivani Pharmacy and open stores under its brand name.
Sanjivani is one of the first branded chain of chemists in India whose operations began in 2006 with an Investment of Rs six lakh and in a short span of time, it has successfully turned into a trusted brand for millions of its customers, especially in smaller towns. This has prompted the company to offer 24x7 services, and it was one of the first pharmacies in New Delhi to do so.
The company is backed by NB Marketing Pvt Ltd, its parent company. Its founder Mr Mayank Garg says, “India being a highly populated country, it becomes pertinent to handle healthcare efficiently. The Indian scenario presents great potential for penetration of organised pharma chains in the country as the demand for pharmaceutical products is increasing with the increase in healthcare awareness. With the current situation of the Corona virus pandemic, people are now more conscious and aware than before, especially towards preventive and curative medicines. So, the need to have more pharmacy stores to serve the growing demand becomes even more important.”
Under its franchise model, Sanjivani Pharmacy offers crucial hand holding in terms of guiding retailers about the need to provide medicines and essential pharma equipments on time. It currently has more than 70 franchisees stores across the country.
The chain has received several accolades and has bagged many lucrative institutional orders, including those from clients like Tata Projects, Max Health care and the Embassy of Dubai, to name a few.
Sanjivani Pharmacy is also the recipient of the prestigious ‘Franchiser of the Year’ award, which it had bagged during the 15th International Franchise & Retails show in 2017.
