Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Nat Sciver-Brunt helped England beat South Africa in the Group B match in ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 match number nine by 7 wickets to jump to the the top of the points table over West Indies. Engalnd chased down the 125 runs target set by South Africa with in 19.2 overs to secure thier second consecutive win at the cometition.
Earlier, South Africa won the toss and opted to bat first. However despite good start from Laura Wolvaardt (42) and Tazmin Brits (13), and good cameos from Marizanne Kapp (26) and Annerie Dercksen (20 not-out), was only able to put 124 runs on the board with the loss of six wickets.
Foe, England in bowling, Sopie Ecclestone took two wickets while. Linsey Smith, Sarah Glenn and Charlie Dean took one wicket each.

In reply, England lost their first wicket in the form of Maia Bouchier (8) early on, with the score at just 16. Danni Wyatt Hodge (43) and Alice Capsey (19) then added 34 runs for the second wicket, but Nandine de Klark ended the partnership by dismissing Capsey with a caught and bowled.
Wyatt then added 64 runs with Nat Sciver Brunt (48 not out) before being dismissed by Mlaba. In the end, Brunt saw England home as the final scorecard read 125 for 3 in 19.2 overs for the victors.
