In the official pitch report, Daren Ganga and Simon Katich said, "The square boundaries are 61m and 72m long, while the straight boundary is at 75m. We're playing on pitch 4 for the first time this season, it's a 100% black soil pitch. It doesn't have a lot of grass, but it should still be a very good batting pitch with no real turn for the spinners. At 41 degrees, it's a very warm day and dew could be a factor. That could play a role in what the toss-winning captain decides."
