IPL 2024 LIVE UPDATES: RCB vs LSG PITCH REPORT

Here's what Murali Kartik and Graeme Swann said during the pitch report:

"Pitch number 7 which was used for the first game against Punjab Kings - 175 was the score. Average first innings score over here in the last few years has gone up to 196. "

"The pitch is very dry. I think there will be spin, especially for Glenn Maxwell. We saw the other night (RCB vs PBKS), Glenn Maxwell was getting turn. Both spinners for RCB were getting turn - the left-armer and the off-spinner. The area outside the off-stump for the right-handed batters, an area Maxwell will be looking to pitch the ball."

"It's almost like a riverbed, very dry, a lot of these cracks don't move but right next to these cracks, there's a little bit of grass as well. The ball will behave differently whether it pitches on the brown bit or the green. It may be slightly two-paced. The odd ball turns, the odd ball goes straight. A very good pitch for bowling spin"

Will big-buy Alzarri warm the benches today?

The situation has turned even grimmer as Siraj's new-ball partner Alzarri Joseph, RCB's Rs 11.5 crore buy in the auction, has been totally rudderless, taking a solitary wicket and leaking 9.4 runs per over.

So, the hosts might ponder the inclusion of either Reece Topley or Lockie Ferguson against Lucknow in place of the West Indian.

The spin unit of RCB offers an even more bewildering view as none among Glenn Maxwell, Karn Sharma and Mayank Dagar, the most impressive of the lot, have bowled their full quota of four overs in any of the three previous matches.

In fact, Maxwell's off-spin was not even employed in their last match against the Knight Riders.

To make matters worse, they don't have many reliable choices in the dugout too.
