IPL Schedule 2024
The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) kicks off on March 22, 2024. The event is organised by the Board of Cricket Council of India (BCCI), and TATA is the official sponsor.
IPL is the world's richest cricket league and the second-biggest league in the world after America’s National Football League (NFL).
The ten teams are Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Titans (GT), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Mumbai Indians (MI), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
BCCI revealed the complete schedule of IPL 2024 on March 25. BCCI unveiled the tournament's complete schedule, factoring in the polling dates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
New Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium five IPL games after Delhi Capitals preferred to play their first two home games at Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium, also known as Chepauk Stadium, to host the IPL 2024 final, which will take place on May 26. Chepauk Stadium also awarded hosting rights of the second qualifier on May 24.
Chennai has been awarded the final by virtue of CSK being the defending champions. The title-holders get to host the opening and the final game of the tournament as per established convention.
The event got underway on March 22 after the BCCI announced the schedule for just the first two weeks (21 matches).
The other two marquee play-off matches will be hosted by Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on May 21 and 22 respectively.
A closing ceremony is expected to take place on the IPL 2024 final day i.e. May 26.
IPL 2024 match timings
On the doubleheader day, the first match of the day will begin at 3:30 PM IST while the second game will kick-start at 7:30 PM IST.
