Indian spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were once again in the spotlight as India beat Bangladesh by 280 runs in the first Test to go 1-0 up in the two-match series on day 4.Bangladesh started the day steady with their overnight score of 158 for 4 and added 36 more runs for the fifth wicket before Ravichandran Ashwin got rid of Shakib Al Hasan (25). Ravindra Jadeja then struck to remove Litton Das (1) to push Bangladesh back on the backfoot.Ashwin then removed Mehidy Hasan Miraz (8) to complete his five-wicket haul in the innings. Jadeja ended skipper Najmul Hasan Shanto's resistance, removing him for 82.The spin duo then shared the remaining two wickets, one each, to end the Bangladeshi innings on 234, winning the game by 280 runs.Earlier, India, batting first, put 376 for 10 on the board with the help of a century from Ashwin and half-centuries from Jaiswal and Jadeja.Bangladesh, in reply, were bowled out for 149, while India, with the help of centuries from Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant, declared their innings on 287 for 4 to give Bangladesh a 515-run target.
