India vs England 2nd Test Day 3: First 30 minutes summary

James Anderson bowled with great line and length, getting rid of the Indian captain and first innings double centurion in his first two overs. The first two wickets put England in a driver seat after conceeding a lead of 143 in the first innings. 

Shubman Gill survived a massive scare as he was adjudged LBW but the onfield decision was overturned after DRS. Notably, Gill discussed with his partner before taking the review, which showed a spike as the ball passed the bat.

Gill not looking confident and has been out of run and so does Shreyas Iyer.

A good time to get in form as England is all over the Indian team.

Anderson continues to trouble the Indian batters and this time around it was Iyer. After driving a full ball, he gets a length one and edges it with the soft hands, it doesn’t carry to Root at first slip. Brilliant fielding by Stokes saves a ceratin four.

Umpire’s call to Gill’s rescue now

It is hitting the pads. But the umpire said that it was not out and England reviewed it. The wickets hitting is the umpire’s call. As a result, it will remain not out. Two overs and two chances for Gill. England could have had four by now.

Gill survives a huge scare

After being hit for a four, Tom Hartley comes back on the very next ball with a great length and hits Gill on the pads right in front and the umpire has no hesitation in raising his fingers. Gill is not certain, but takes the review and what we see is there is a spike on the ultra edge. He was not sure that he nicked it and took the review at the last second.
