Gujarat Titans took full home advantage as they beat the Mumbai Indians by a huge margin of 55 runs in the 35th match of the Indian Premier League held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad and Rashid Khan were the stars with the ball while Shubman Gill, Abhinav Manohar and David Miller scored crucial runs with the bat.

Chasing 208 to win, Mumbai were given a shocker at the start itself as their skipper Rohit Sharma was removed by his counterpart Hardik Pandya for two off eight balls. Post the first wicket, the men in blue and gold could not recover and were 90/6 before Piyush Chawla and Nehal Wadhera added 45 for the seventh wicket to provide some respectability to the Mumbai total. At the end of the 20 overs, Mumbai were 152/9.

Earlier in the evening, after losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Gujarat Titans were slow to start off. Shubman Gill scored yet another fifty. After that, Abhinav Manohar, David Miller and Rahul Tewatia thrashed the Mumbai bowlers to garner 106 runs in the last 46 balls to reach 207/6 in their 20 overs.

The toss between Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandy and his Mumbai Indians counterpart Rohit Sharma was won by the latter who decided to bowl first at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
