The intensity of the showers has decreased but it continues to pour down at the Gabba with a considerable time still left for the play to resume at the moment.

The second session was set to begin, but the unyielding rain has dashed any such hopes. The downpour shows no signs of abating, and the wait for cricket continues. The ground, now a soggy mess, has absorbed plenty of water, and even with the Gabba’s stellar drainage system, it will take considerable time to restore playability.

 

The post-lunch session is officially delayed, and live visuals offer little comfort. The field is completely drenched, and Sunil Gavaskar’s grim assessment only deepens the gloom: “We’ll be lucky to get even an hour of play if the rain stops now.”

 

For cricket fans, the situation is bleak. The skies remain heavy, the field sodden, and the action elusive. The Gabba waits in suspended animation, its stage soaked, its drama momentarily drowned.

It is time for the lunch break to get over now but the rain gods aren't taking it easy on the fans at the moment with heavy rain persisting at the Gabba. Still pretty gloomy in Brisbane as the outfield has been flooded now. 

It's frustrating especially for the Indian fans who were up and awake early in the morning to watch the match and have had little to no cricketing action so far.

As the players are taking early lunch in Brisbane. Lets take a look at the weather forecast of the remaining play of the day. 

It is currently raining at the moment. There is a forecast of more than 70 per cent of rainfall till 10:30 AM IST (3 PM Brisbane time). The drainage of The Gabba is superb. 

The local fans said tthat the rain could take place till 4 PM local time (11:30 AM IST). But one can't say about the weather.

3rd Test Day 1 | IND vs AUS LIVE WEATHER UPDATES: A stop-start session for both sides!

Both sides didn't benefit from the interruptions in the first session. While the Aussies were left frustrated with the first spell of rain, the Indian pacers would've hoped for the play to be uninterrupted while Akash Deep and Bumrah looked to come in strongly as heavy rains entered the fray.

The first spell of rain brought out the best of the Indian pacers as they maintained good line and length as Akash Deep also came into the attack. However, they haven't got a wicket so far with Khawaja and McSweeney being patient and leaving deliveries quite regularly in the middle for now.

With heavy rain in the middle, it is loking more and more likely that lunch will be taken at it's original time (8:20 AM IST). Looks like the play will resume with the post-lunch session today. Still time to decide whether India's call for bowling first was the right thing to do or not.

It has become dark again above the stadium with heavier clouds coming in to disrupt the proceedings this time. This could be lengthier delay than the previous one. The outfield remains uncovered as the ground staff back the drainage system of the stadium to do the job once the rain stops.
