Day 1 of the 1st Test between India and New Zealand has been called off due to heavy rains at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. With continuous rain at the ground, the players didn't even come to the stadium with the coin toss delayed at the start.

The likes of Virat Kohli and Yashavi Jaiswal were seen coming to the field and presumably doing a session in the indoor nets today.

The Bengaluru weather forecast was right on with overcast conditions being there for the entire time. Light drizzle for prolonged periods couldn't even let the ground staff take off the covers from the pitch.
