On day 2 of the 3rd Test between India and New Zealand, Team India got a good start in order to put more runs on the scoreboard after a batting collapse yesterday. Both Gill and Pant stitching up a brilliant and important 96-run partnership for the hosts as the score went near the Kiwis total on the day.
While Pant departed for 60 by LBW, Gill and Jadeja continued to bat on till lunch with the score at 195/5 at the break.
Gill missed out on his century by 10 runs as he was dismissed by Ajaz Patel on 90 runs. India managed to take the lead with Ashwin and Washington Sundar on the crease.
Ashwin also lost his wicket on 6 runs courtesy of Ajaz who went on to pick up his fifer on a ground he loces to bowl on. It was Washington Sundar's 38 runs in the end that steered the hosts to a 28-run lead in the end as the Kiwis bundled out the hosts on 263.
In reply, NZ lost an early wicket as Akash Deep struck in the 1st over to dismiss skipper Latham for just 1 run.
The Indian bowlers had another good day at the office as spinners Jadeja and Ashwin bamboozling the New Zealand batting lineup on the day.
Jadeja led the bowling lineup with 4 wickets followed by Ashwin with 3 wickets to his name as well.
If India succeed in taking an early wicket on day 3, they would have a decent potential target for them and could win the final Test on day 3 itself.
