This is simply unacceptable from the Super Kings as Deepak Chahar has attempted a direct hit and broken the stumps while the batter was comfortably inside, conceding an extra run for no reason at all.

All his players in front of the stumps are in the circle and Deshpande has bowled two full balls and a length ball in the first three of his deliveries. Either he doesn’t know how to bowl short or doesn’t know how to set the field or is being asked to bowl like a clueless fellow.

The Gujarat Titans are dealing in boundaries and are now headed to 150 with five overs yet to be bowled. Much like Jadeja and Chahar, another economical bowler Maheesh Theekshana has turned out to be expensive as he has now conceded 36 in his four overs and has not been able to pick even one wicket.

IPL Final Live Score, CSK vs GT: Chahar and Jadeja fail on the big occasion

 

Deepak Chahar and Ravindra Jadeja, the two big guns have failed on the big occasion. They do have a wicket each in hand as Saha has been caught behind the stumps by MSD. However, both of them combined cost 76 in the eight overs, which was not expected of them. They were 4/60 kind of bowlers in eight overs. This will now put pressure on other bowlers in the remaining six overs.

Wriddhiman Saha and his form of the finals is back as he has cut this one and it has gone past Maheesh Theekshana, who is looking for a space to hide himself in the field. This fifty has now brought up fifty for Saha.

Matheesha Pathirana has been brought into the attack by MS Dhoni to try and get wickets as rain has started to fall heavily now. But instead, he has conceded 13 runs in his first over itself and the Titans have brought up their hundred in only the 12th over.

The Gujarat Titans have not been able to do well in the last few overs as they have got only 24 runs in overs 6-10. However, in the 11th over, they have added 10 runs and reached near 100.

MS Dhoni from behind the stumps is contemplating and assessing the time as the Time out has been taken. Titans have moved ahead in the game and are 80/1 at the end of eight over, Chennai would not like to chase anything above 180 in a crunch game like this.

The ball that Jadeja pitched outside off, went away from Gill, who was drawn by its flight and had lost his balance, by the time he could drag his feet back in the crease, the quickest hands in teh East had removed the bails and the Titans opener had to walk back. Chennai have their first break of the night.

Ravindra Jadeja had an easy opportunity to run Gill out, but he fumbled and took the bails off with his hands, before collecting the ball and as  result, the Titans opener has survived.
