IND vs ENG 1st Test Day 3 Live Score Updates: What happened in the second session?

 

Ben Duckett and Oliie Ope started on the offensive in the post-lunch session again. However, Jasprit Bumrah was at his lethal best as he managed to get Duckett LBW, but Rohit not going for a review only cost him eight more runs as he cleaned up the English opener in the very next over after being hit for two fours. 

 

The Gujarat-born then had his recent bunny Joe Root leg before wicket with luck going his way as it was the umpire’s call on hitting the wickets when Root reviewed the on-field umpire’s call. 

 

Pope managed to get to his fifty while Bairstow faced yet another beauty to get bowled for four. Stokes joined Pope in the middle with the mentality of ‘block it out’, but was deceived by a beauty from Ashwin as England lost their fifth wicket. Foakes and Pope took England to Tea at 172/5, trailing by 18 runs. 83 runs in 23 overs and four wickets in this session which belonged to India.
