Oh no!! Another one goes down. It was a genuine edge as Shreyas Iyer went poking at a ball outside off from Marco Jasne and got an edge towards the slip cordon. Keegan Petersen at the third slip went in with the left hand while Markram behind was into his routine with both hands. It stuck Keegan’s palm and touched the grass. It was the second drop catch of the session by the Proteas as Tea was called at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.

India vs South Africa Live Score | 1st Test Day 3: Jaiswal dropped off the first ball

 

Yashasvi Jaiswal was dropped off the first ball of India’s second innings as Kagiso Rabada bowled a pitch-perfect delivery to get the edge of Jaiswal’s bat and head towards the slip cordon. The ball was never reaching the first slip and therefore Aiden Markram in the second slip went for the catch with a forward lunging dive but was not able to hold on to the ball after it hit his palms.

India vs South Africa Live Score | 1st Test Day 3: Bumrah gets a four-fer, Proteas out for 408

 

Proteas were bowled out for 408 after Temba Bavuma did not come to bat in the first innings. Jasprit Bumrah took a four-wicket haul as Nandre Burger was cleaned up by him. Marco Jansen was left stranded for 84 as his wait for a First-Class hundred was further increased. Proteas now have a lead of 163 runs and they would look to put pressure on the Indian batters right from the start of the third innings.

With a cracking drive from Marco Jansen, the Proteas brought up their 400 and took the lead past 150. At such a dominant position, the next target for them is to allow Marco Jansen to get to his hundred. He is batting on 77. This is already his highest score in international cricket, surpassing his previous best of unbeaten 75 in ODIs, achieved against England in the recently concluded ODI World Cup.
