What looked like a tough chase as the Kolkata Knight Riders were reduced to 33/3 in the fifth over. However, those three were the last till the start of the 18th over as Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana put up a 99-run match-winning partnership in 76 balls. It was more than enough for the Kolkata side to chase down 145 with nine balls to spare even as Rinku was run out with 13 runs yet to be scored.

Deepak Chahar took three wickets for his team. Earlier in the evening, after winning the toss and electing to bet first, Chennai were restricted to 144/6 as the spin duo of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy picked four wickets and conceded only 51 runs in the eight overs that they bowled together.

Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni won the toss against Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Nitish Rana at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk and decided to bat first on a sticky wicket.

RR vs RCB Highlights, IPL 2023

The Royal Challengers have boosted their net run rate immensely by beating the Rajasthan Royals by a huge margin of 112 runs. Courtesy of this win, they have now moved to fifth place, dismissing the Royals from it.

Chasing the target of 172, Rajasthan lost Yashasvi Jaiswal with the score at one. That started a series of wicket fall which ended with the 10th wicket at 59. Shimron Hetmyer top scored with 35 off 19 balls. Joe Root was the only other Rajasthan batter to get into the double digits. He scored 10.

For Bangalore, Wayne Parnell took three wickets while Michael Bracewell and Karn Sharma took two wickets. Mohammed Siraj and Glenn Maxwell took a wicket each. Earlier in the day, Faf du Plessis and Maxwell hit fifties to get Bangalore to 171/5 in their 20 overs.

RR vs RCB Toss, IPL 2023

The toss between Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis was won by the latter who decided to bat first at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur.
