Ishan Kishan tried to be cheeky as he waited for Rovman Powell to get his foot in the air on a wide ball by Chahal. But that did not happen and Powell remained not out. 

 

The last ball from Chahal in this over though would have caused the Windies batters to think about what the ball could do on this wicket. It turned miles.

Somebody needs to stop Nicholas Pooran as he is just toying with Ravoi Bishnoi here. Tow googlies first up and two fours cut off the back foot, a leg break and hit down the ground. A top-spinner hit down the ground too and then an attempted yorker guided past the short third man for a four. 

 

The left-hander has taken 18 from the over and is rushing towards the total, Windies end their powerplay at 61/3. At the same point, India were 34/2.

Nicholas Pooran is not going to die waiting as he has hit Mukesh Kumar for back-to-back fours to take the West Indies total to 43/3 at the end of four overs.

WI vs IND 2nd T20 LIVE SCORE: West Indies 33/3 in 04 overs, Mayers walks out frustrated after being judged LBW

 

Kyle Mayers did not look happy one bit as he was tearing into Arshdeep before being trimmed out leg before wicket. To the naked eye, it did not look out at all the off stump was clearly visible and the ball was hitting the front pad above the knee roll.  

 

He reviewed the decision and it came out to be the umpire’s call on hitting the wicket and the West Indies batter was angered to the core by the umpire’s call.

Nicholas Pooran got cracking in this over as he hit Pandya for a six off the first ball and then drove him past the point and covers for a four as well. On the last ball, Mayers managed to squeeze in a four past the short fine leg as well. 

In total, the Windies' batters took17 runs from his over.

Pooran survived a poor umpiring decision thanks to DRS, The ball was nowhere close to the bat and its impact was outside off while hitting the left-hander’s pads and yet he was given out. Anyways DRS saved him and West Indies survive the second over without any further loss.

Indian batters failed to make a mark once again as Tilak Varma (51) remained the only shining light in an otherwise ordinary batting performance from the men in blue. Ishan Kishan (27), Hardik Pandya (24) and Axar Patel (14) were the only three batters from Varma to reach the double figures. Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav failed yet again.

 

For West Indies, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph and Romario Shepherd picked two wickets each to restrict India to 152/7. They would now need 153 to win the match and take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Wicket!! Axar Patel is gone as he tried to pull Romario Shepherd, but could only get a leading edge back to wicket-keeper Nicholas Pooran 

 

Four!! While Axar could not get the four, Arshdeep gets a leading edge and as a result a four over the wicket-keeper 

 

Six!! Come on!! This is brilliant from Ravio Bohsnoi as he gets the ball in the slot and hits it over long-on for a six. India cross the 150 mark. 

 

Two runs from the last two deliveries would mean a target of 153 for West Indies to chase down and take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Four!! Today is not Obed McCoy’s day it seems. After a great first over, the rest of his two overs were expensive. He has now gone for 9 runs on the first five balls of his last over as well.

Six!! Wow!! This is a huge six down the ground from Hardik Pandya who looks all set to explode. He has just not got the ball in the slot as much as he would have liked. The West Indies bowlers have been disciplined. 

 

Bowed him!! Wow, Pandya had his moment and now Joseph is having his. A pitch-perfect yorker against his Gujarat Titans captain to clean him up. Pandya wanted to guide the yorker to third-man to keep strike for the next over. Once again India are without a proper batter with the last two overs to go.

Out!! Finally, the wicket that West Indies needed has come. Tilak Varma, in an attempt to raise the run rate, has holed out to deep square leg and it is Obed McCoy who has redeemed himself, having dropped the Indian batter earlier.

Six!! Lengthy ball on middle and leg and Varma dispatches it for a six over deep backward square leg 

 

That would be fifty for Tilak Varma. What an innings this has been. Brilliant from the man who made his debut only in the last game. Under pressure, he has scored a 39-ball fifty. He placed the ball towards the backward point folder and ran as fast as he can to get to the milestone. 

 

This over has given India 11 runs and brought up the team 100 as well.
