Left parties leading on 8-10 seats: EC trends

Fighting for redemption, the Left parties slightly improved their performance in 2024 Lok Sabha polls, leading in eight to 10 seats according to ECI data. The CPI (M), which had only three MPs in the previous Lok Sabha, was leading in five parliamentary seats. In Rajasthan, its candidate from Sikar, Amra Ram, lead by more than 55,814 votes over BJP's Sumedhanand Saraswati.

Election Results 2024 LIVE: Samajwadi party on UP-surge, both Akhilesh and Dimple Yadav lead

EC data showed that Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav is ahead by a margin of 61,351 votes against BJP candidate Subrat Pathak in Kannauj,  Dimple Yadav is leading in Mainpuri by a margin of 68,261 votes against the saffron party's Jaiveer Singh. Dharmendra Yadav is ahead by a margin of 45,069 votes against BJP's Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua. Akshay Yadav is also leading by a healthy margin of 56,986 votes against his nearest rival BJP's Vishwadeep Singh.

'Ramayan' fame actor Arun Govil leads from Meerut

According to Election Commission trends, "Ramayan" actor Arun Govil, who is contesting the Lok Sabha election from Uttar Pradesh's Meerut, is  ahead of his nearest rival by over 40,000 votes. Another BJP candidate, actor Suresh Gopi from Thrissur, Kerala, is leading by over 43,000 votes, according to trends available on the Election Commission website.
