BJP leading in 14 LS seats, Congress in eight in Rajasthan

The BJP was leading on 14 Lok Sabha seats and the Congress on eight in Rajasthan, according to the Election Commission. Besides the Congress, other INDIA bloc parties CPI(M) and RLP and BAP were leading in one seat each in the state that sends 25 members to the Lower House of Parliament, data on the poll panel's website showed. Lok Sabha Speaker and BJP candidate Om Birla, Union ministers Arjun Meghwal (Bikaner), Gajendra Singh Shekhawat (Jodhpur) and Bhupendra Yadav (Alwar) were leading, while Union minister Kailash Chaudhary (Barmer) was trailing.

Bhojpuri singer-actor Pawan Singh leads in Bihar's Karakat

Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh, who contested as an Independent candidate from Bihar's Karakat seat after refusing BJP's offer to stand from Asansol, was leading over his nearest rival Raja Ram Singh Kushwaha of CPI (ML) Liberation by 179 votes. Former Union minister Upendra Kushwaha, the Rashtriya Lok Morcha candidate, was trailing.
According to the latest data released by ECI, Singh has polled 4,752 votes, followed by 4,573 of Raja Ram Singh Kushwaha and 3,550 of Upendra Kushwaha.

West Bengal Lok Sabha contest: Trinamool Congress leading in 22, BJP in 5, Cong in 2 seats

The Trinamool congress strode ahead of its rivals as it was leading in 22 seats, whereas the BJP was leading in five and the Congress in two seat after the initial round of counting, the Election Commission website said. TMC's Hooghly candidate Rachana Banerjee was leading after counting postal ballots over her nearest BJP rival and sitting MP Locket Chatterjee. TMC candidate and sitting MP Abhishek Banerjee is leading in the Diamond Harbour constituency over his nearest rival BJP's Abhijit Das.
