Lok Sabha polls 2024: BJP refuses to even mention word minorities' in its manifesto, says AIMIM chief Owaisi
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said the saffron party even refused to mention the word "minorities" in its manifesto, instead saying it as "marginalised". "I have seen the BJP's advertisement on April 17 in various newspapers. Please see when they talk about giving loans or help to start a business from the government, it says ST and OBC. The BJP is even refusing to mention word minorities forget about Muslims. The word minorities is mentioned in the Constitution of India and the BJP has a great hatred for the word M," Owaisi told PTI videos on Wednesday. "They have not mentioned the word minorities. They say scholarships will be given to marginalised communities," he said.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav claimed that in future Congress leader Rahul Gandhi might have to contest an election from some place across the oceans, as he would not find a safe seat in the country. "He used to insult our religion, insult the youth power and women. He ran away after losing the election from Uttar Pradesh (Amethi) and reached the southern state (Kerala)...in future he may have to cross the oceans and contest election from somewhere else," Yadav quipped.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh slams CPI (M) on nuclear weapons poll promise, alleges efforts to weaken India
Demanding an explaination behind the CPI (M)'s election manifesto promise to dismantle all nuclear weapons in the country, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday accused the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Congress of conspiring to weaken India. "I want to ask Congress in particular what they have to say about this comment by CPIM. I want to ask them to clarify. CPIM says if they come to power, they will destroy all nuclear weapons. India's first nuclear tests were conducted in 1974 by Indira Gandhi. The need arose because China had continuously been doing nuclear tests. And even Pakistan had begun its nuclear trials," the defence minister said while addressing a public rally in Kerala's Kasargod.

Nomination process for fourth phase of General Elections starts today
The nomination process for the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections to be held on May 13 began today. All constituencies of Andhra Pradesh (25) and Telangana (17) will go to polls in this phase.
