Rajasthan BJP President Madan Rathore on Saturday claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party has won the Assembly bypolls in Jhunjhunu, Khinwsar, Deoli-Uniara, Ramgarh and Salumbar, while recounting of votes is underway in Dausa.
As per the latest Election Commission of India (ECI) figures, BJP candidates are leading in five seats -- Jhunjhunu, Khinwsar, Deoli-Uniara, Ramgarh and Salumbar, Congress is ahead in Dausa, while the Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) nominee has won the Chorasi Assembly seat.
"We have won five seats while recounting is underway in Dausa. I am hopeful of a positive result," Rathore told reporters here.
"Though we lost in Chorasi, our candidate secured more votes as compared to the 2023 Assembly elections," he added.
As per the ECI, BJP candidates Rewant Ram Danga (Khinwsar), Rajendra Bhamboo (Jhunjhunu), Rajendra Gujar (Deoli-Uniara), Sukhwant Singh (Ramgarh) and Shanta Meena (Salumbar) are in the lead, while Congress' Deen Dayal is ahead by a thin margin in Dausa.

The stage is set for by-elections on seven assembly seats in Rajasthan on Wednesday, which will have no bearing on the health of the BJP government but are a crucial test for the party and its leaders as they look to leave behind the disappointing Lok Sabha poll performance in the state.
Apart from the BJP and the Congress, Hanuman Beniwal's Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) and Rajkumar Rathore's Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) have also fielded candidates as they face the challenge of defending their strongholds.
The seven seats going to the poll are: Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Deoli-Uniara, Khinvsar, Chorasi, Salumber and Ramgarh. Votes will be cast on November 13 and the results will be declared on November 23.
As many as 69 candidates -- 10 female and 59 male -- are in the fray in the seven constituencies. A total of 1,915 polling booths have been set up.

More than 9,000 security personnel will be deployed on the polling day for  the by-elections to the seven assembly seats in Rajasthan, officials said.
"Strong law and order arrangements have been made for free, fair and transparent elections in all seven assembly constituencies of Ramgarh, Dausa, Jhunjhunu, Salumber, Chaurasi, Khinvsar and Deoli-Uniyara," Rajasthan Chief Election Officer Naveen Mahajan said.
Mahajan said strong security measures will be implemented in these areas on the polling day on November 13, for which over 9,000 security personnel, including 43 companies of central armed police forces (CAPF) and 17 companies of Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC), will be deployed.
A total of 6,275 personnel of state police and 650 jawans of Home Guard are also being deployed, he added.
Mahajan said flying squads and static surveillance teams will be deployed in every assembly constituency for intensive checking and monitoring on the polling day.

The upcoming Rajasthan Assembly bypolls will be a crucial test for the Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma-led BJP government, which will complete one year in office next month.
A month after Sharma assumed office in December last year, the BJP lost the Karanpur assembly seat.
In another embarrassment for the party, it lost 11 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state in the general elections. In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, all seats had gone to the BJP.

Within a fortnight of its defeat in the Delhi assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday announced a restructuring of its frontal organisations to strengthen its presence across the national capital.
AAP's Delhi state convener and former minister Gopal Rai, after a crucial meeting with office-bearers on Saturday, said an audit of all functionaries at the Lok Sabha, district, assembly and ward levels will be conducted within a week to assess their roles during the elections, an official statement of AAP said.
The meeting, held at the party headquarters, was attended by key leaders, including Purvanchal Wing president Akhilesh Pati Tripathi, Youth Wing president Pankaj Gupta, Legal Cell president Sanjeev Nasiar and other office-bearers from various wings, the statement said.

The Enforcement Directorate Thursday said it has found "multiple irregularities" in the operations of TASMAC that has monopoly over liquor trade in Tamil Nadu, including "manipulation" in the tender processes and "unaccounted" cash transactions worth Rs 1,000 crore through distillery companies.
