Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh): At 5 am, Khatun Begum (50) wakes up in the loft above her pink-walled shop on the banks of the Saryu river, in Faizabad district, Uttar Pradesh (UP). With her arms on her chest, she bows her head in prayer to Allah, while the husband and two children sleep in a little longer.
