Ram Mandir consecration celebrated with religious fervour in Andhra Pradesh

People across Andhra Pradesh celebrated the consecration of Lord Ram temple in Ayodhya on Monday with religious fervour by watching the rituals live on television, hoisting the saffron flag atop their homes, organising rallies, community banquets and other activities.
 
At Penumaka village in Guntur district, many villagers took part in community meals and gathered to celebrate the event while several retail outlets in nearby Undavalli village also hoisted the saffron flags.
 
In Tirumala's Dharmagiri Veda Vignana Peetham, a recitation programme of 'Valmiki Ramayana' was held in honour of the construction of Ram Mandir in Uttar Pradesh.
 
The programme was conducted between 9 am and 12:45 pm. On this occasion, special pujas were performed to Sri Venkateswara Swamy, Sri Seetha Lakshmana Anjaneya Sametha Sri Rama in the Dharmagiri prayer hall, said a press release.
 
Students and faculty of the Peetham recited more than 20,000 slokas from Balakanda, Ayodhyakanda, Aranyakanda, Kishkindakanda, Sundarakanda and Yudhakanda.

Extensive research, study gone into preparation of Ram Lalla ornaments: Trust

The ornaments for the Ram Lalla idol consecrated at the grand Ayodhya temple have been prepared after an extensive research and study of texts such as the Adhyatma Ramayana, Valmiki Ramayana, Ramcharitmanas and the Alavandar Stotram, according to the temple trust.
 
The ornaments have been crafted by Ankur Anand's Lucknow-based Harsahaimal Shiamlal Jewellers.
 
"Ram Lalla is adorned in Banarasi fabric, featuring a yellow dhoti and a red pataka/angavastram. These angavastrams are embellished in pure gold 'zari' and threads, featuring auspicious Vaishnav symbols - Shankh, Padma, Chakra, and Mayur," a member of the temple trust said.
 
These garments were created by Delhi-based textile designer Manish Tripathi, who worked from Ayodhya Dham for the project, he said.

Parents go for 'muhurat' child delivery coinciding with Ram Lalla idol consecration

Hoping for an "auspicious" start for their newborns, many couples had 'muhurat deliveries', planned in consultation with doctors, in hospitals on Monday coinciding with the Ram Lalla idol consecration in Ayodhya.
 
While 'Ram' and 'Sita' were the preferred names for many, a baby boy born to a Muslim family in the district hospital in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, was named Ram Rahim by his grandmother.
 
Dr Naveen Jain, incharge of the district women's hospital, said that the woman, Farzana, gave birth to a baby boy and "the child's grandmother Husna Banu has named him Ram Rahim" saying she wanted to give a "message of Hindu-Muslim unity".

As the 'Pran Pratishtha' of Shri Ram Lalla was conducted in Ayodhya amid celebratory chants and drumbeats, former Karnataka chief minister and BJP leader, BS Yediyurappa, called it a 'very auspicious moment' that crores of people had been waiting for.
 
Prime Minister Narendra performed the rituals surrounding the 'Pran Pratishtha' of the deity at his avowed birthplace, Ayodhya.
 
The main rituals were performed under the close supervision of a select complement of top priests from across the country.
 
Speaking to ANI on Monday, the former Karnataka CM said, "Today is a very auspicious day. This is a moment that crores of people, across generations, had been waiting patiently for. What made it all the more special was that the temple was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi himself."
 
The idol of Ram was unveiled for devotees after the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony that involved hour-long rituals led by PM Modi.
 
He walked inside the temple premises, flaunting a red folded dupatta with a silver 'chattar' (umbrella) woven into it.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday said the idol consecration ceremony at the newly constructed Ram temple in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh is a historic moment and a matter of pride not only for the country, but for the entire world.
 
He was talking to reporters after offering prayers at a Lord Ram temple inside the popular Dudhdhari Math (religious institution) in Chhattisgarh capital Raipur.

Gujarat: Stones pelted at 'shobha yatra' of Lord Ram in Vadodara; one injured

Stones were pelted on Monday evening on a procession taken out in Vadodara in Gujarat to celebrate the idol consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, police said.
 
One person was injured in the incident that took place during a 'shobha yatra' in Bhoj in Padra taluka and a combing operation has been launched to nab three to four persons who pelted stones, Vadodara Superintendent of Police Rohan Anand said.
 
"Some people threw stones at the procession when it reached a street in the village. Police personnel accompanying the procession brought the situation under control and it proceeded on its designated route," the SP told reporters.
 
"The village was already tense ahead of the procession. The local police inspector had visited the village a couple of days ago and held a meeting (with members of both communities) to ensure peace was maintained during the procession. A sizable contingent of police personnel has been deployed at the site," Anand said.
 
The process to register an FIR is underway, the SP added.

Hawans, bhandaras organised by JNU, DU students to mark Ayodhya Ram temple event

Groups of students at JNU and Delhi University here marked the Ayodhya Ram temple consecration ceremony on Monday by organising 'hawans', 'bhandaras' and Sundarkand recitals.
 
The 'Pran Pratishtha' of the new idol of Ram Lalla was done at the temple in Uttar Pradesh in the event led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
 
Chanting "Jai Shri Ram", hundreds of students participated in a 'shobha yatra' at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). 'Hawans' and 'bhandaras' were also organised at the university's hostels.
 
"The first 'hawan' of the day was performed at the Sabarmati Hostel at 11:30 am with a 'Sundarkand Path (recital)'. Bhandaras were organised across hostels," a JNU student, who did not wish to be named, said.
 
The student also said that a 'deepotsav' will also be organised on campus in the evening.

Assam marks Ram temple consecration ceremony with special prayers

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday termed the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya as "reawakening of national consciousness" even as people of the state joined in marking the occasion with special prayers.
 
Temples and 'namghars' (community prayer halls) were lit up with earthen lamps and lights in the evening even as processions were taken out across the state through the day.
 
Sarma, who watched the consecration ceremony at the Harijan Colony in the city, said it is a "turning point" for the country.
 
"The return of Dashrathnandan Ram to His Bhavya Mandir marks a turning point in our civilisation and a reawakening of national consciousness", Sarma wrote on X.
 
He said the events being organised during the day will inspire "more than a thousand future generations to uphold Sanatan Dharma to its fullest glory".
 
"As Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji leads the nation to restore a vital dharmic and sanskritik link, I am eternally grateful to Prabhu Shri Ram for allowing me to exist in this particular time of history, a Swarnim Yug," the CM added.

Ram temple will witness rise of a magnificent India: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday the consecration of the idol of Ram Lalla here marks the advent of a new era and gave a call to people to go beyond the Ram temple's construction to build the foundation of a strong, grand and divine India of the next 1,000 years.
 
After participating in the idol's 'Pran Pratishtha', Modi said in the address to a large number of invitees, including seers, leading figures from different fields and those part of the decades-long agitation for building the temple, that the momentous occasion is not merely about triumph but also humility and underscores Indian society's maturity in resolving historical disputes.
 
In remarks aimed at critics, he said some people used to say that the Ram temple's construction would set off a fire in the country and asked them to reconsider their views.
 
Ram is not fire but energy, Ram is not dispute but solution, Ram is not merely ours but of everyone and Ram is not only the present but also eternal, he said, adding that the temple is also a symbol of peace, patience, harmony and amity in Indian society.
 
Ram defines the spirit of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam' (the world is a family), Modi said.

Patnaik watches live streaming of Ayodhya Ram temple consecration ceremony

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday watched the live telecast of the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple at Ayodhya, while people across the state celebrated the mega event.
 
Accompanied by his close aide and 5T (transformational) and Nabin Odisha chairman V K Pandian, the chief minister watched the live streaming of the event at his residence.
 
"Witnessed the auspicious #RamMandirPranPrathista being held #Ayodhya. Delighted to see the nation coming together with religious fervor for the #PranPratishta", Patnaik said in a post on X.
 
"Hoble Governor extends his hearty wishes to everyone on the much awaited consecration of #ShriRamLala at Ayodhya. May the Lord bless all," Governor Odisha said in a post on X.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday highlighted that the grand Ram Temple will be a witness to the "progress" and "rise" of India.
 
"This grand Ram Temple will become a witness to the rise of Viksit Bharat", the Prime Minister said.
 
Associating the Ram Temple with new India which has taken the pledge to make the country developed by 2047, the Prime Minister urged people to work collectively in an organised form so that the goal can be achieved which will be justified by the power the country will get.
 
"This is India's time and India is going to move forward. After waiting for centuries we have reached here. We all have waited for this era, this period. Now we will not stop. We will continue to reach the heights of development", the Prime Minister said on Monday.

PM offers prayers at Kuber Tila Shiva temple in Ayodhya, unveils Jatayu statue

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday visited the Kuber Tila on the Ram temple premises in Ayodhya and offered prayers to Lord Shiva there.
 
He performed 'jalabhishek' (pouring water on the 'Shiva linga') and also did a 'parikrama' (circumambulation) of the temple.
 
The ancient Shiv temple located on the Kuber Tila in the Ram Janmabhoomi complex is also being renovated by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which is constructing the Ram temple.
 
The prime minister later unveiled a statue of Jatayu, a mythical bird that was killed by Ravana while trying to save Goddess Sita from the demon king, on the premises of the Ayodhya temple.
 
Throwing light on Jatayu's integrity, Modi said such a sense of duty is the basis of a capable and divine India.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday alleged that the BJP has separated Lord Ram from Lakshman, Sita and Anjaneya by installing his lone idol in the Ayodhya temple.
 
Questioning the installation of the lone statue of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, Siddaramaiah said, "Rama cannot be complete without Lakshmana, Sita and Anjaneya. They (BJP) are separating Rama. This is not correct." The chief minister also alleged that BJP does not worship Lord Ram. He said that Congress worships Lord Ram of Mahatma Gandhi.
