In special drive, Maharashtra ATS arrests 13 Bangladeshi nationals for illegal stay
The Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested 13 Bangladeshi nationals for entering India illegally and staying without valid documents, an official said on Friday. The arrests were made during a special drive initiated by the ATS, he added. "Accordingly, action was taken in the last 24 hours with the help of police in Navi Mumbai, Thane and Sholapur. We arrested seven men and six women. They have been booked in three cases under Foreigners Act and other relevant laws. These Bangladeshi nationals had managed to get Indian documents like Aadhaar cards using forged documents," he said.

The mortal remains of former prime minister Manmohan Singh reached Delhi's Nighambodh Ghat crematorium for last rites on Saturday. The procession carrying Singh's mortal remains reached the crematorium at around 11.30 pm, where the last rites will be performed shortly. Earlier, the final journey of Singh began from the AICC headquarters on Saturday morning after Congress leaders paid homage to their departed leader.

“Today morning, the Government received a request to allocate space for a memorial for former Prime Minister Late Dr Manmohan Singh, from the Congress Party President. Immediately after the Cabinet meeting, HM Shri Amit Shah communicated to Congress President Shri Kharge and the family of Late Dr Manmohan Singh that the Government will allocate space for the memorial, the Ministry of Home Affairs said in a late night statement on Friday, a day after the demise of the former PM. In the meanwhile, cremation and other formalities can happen because a trust has to be formed and space has to be allocated to it, it added.
