Taking part in constructive way to reach agreement on Ukraine, climate issues at G20, says China

China said that it is participating in discussions on Ukraine and climate issues in an “active and constructive way".

Follwoing UK PM Rishi Sunak comment that an agreement on Ukraine and climate issues is yet to be reached by the G20 nations due to objections raised by China, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said that China attaches great importance to the G20.

 

“China attaches great importance to the G20 and has participated in the consultations and discussions on the G20 New Delhi Summit document in an active and constructive way,” Mao said. 

 

Mao added that “we stand ready to work with other parties toward positive outcomes at the New Delhi Summit under the principle of consensus-building."

Keen to deepen and broaden India-UK relationship, says Sunak

On India-UK relations, UK PM Rishi Sunak said: "I think the bilateral relationship is in good health and Prime Minister Modi and I are keen to deepen and broaden our relationship. The FTA is an obvious way for us to do that, which is why it remains our priority. And I said hard work to go, but I hope we can conclude a successful FTA. I think we can strengthen our security relationship as well. That's something that I've spoken to the Prime Minister about. And then something I'm particularly excited about is increasing the collaboration between our incredible researchers, our scientific community, our universities. The UK and India are two of the leading science technology superpowers of the world. And I think if we work more closely together, we can create jobs, create new businesses, and help solve some of the world's most pressing problems."
