NSA Doval meets top Chinese diplomat in S Africa, discusses bilateral ties

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has met top Chinese diplomat Wang Yi and discussed bilateral ties with him. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Friends of BRICS meeting here in South Africa on Monday. The meeting came days after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Wang, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, in the Indonesian capital Jakarta, and discussed outstanding issues relating to peace and tranquillity in border areas.

Yamuna in Delhi continues to flow above danger mark at 205.45 meters

Yamuna River continued to overflow in Delhi with water level recorded at 205.45 meters at 7 am on Tuesday. The danger mark of the Yamuna River is at 205.33 meters. On Monday the water level in Yamuna was at 206.56 metres. Meanwhile, on Sunday, announcements were made by the administration to vacate low-lying areas near the floodplains.

Ajit Pawar to hold meeting with District collectors to review heavy rain situation

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will hold a meeting of all the District Collectors on Monday to review the situation of heavy rains and floods in the state. "Deputy CM Ajit Pawar will chair a meeting of the district collectors through video conferencing at 9:00 am in Mantralay," an official statement said. Ajit Pawar on Monday informed the Maharashtra assembly that he will undertake a meeting to review the assessment and impact of heavy rains and floods in the state.
