KVS can't deny EWS admissions if certificate issued by another state, says HC

The Delhi High Court has ruled that the Central government, which oversees the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), is the rightful authority to notify the annual income threshold for determining whether a child qualifies as economically weaker section (EWS). The court emphasized that the KVS cannot reject admission to a student under the EWS category solely on the basis that the income certificate was procured from a state other than Delhi.

HC refuses to direct Trai to furnish tapping info to mobile user under RTI

The Delhi High Court has overturned a decision that upheld the Central Information Commission's (CIC) directive to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to gather and provide information under RTI proceedings regarding the alleged phone tapping of a mobile user. In an appeal by TRAI against a single-judge bench order, a bench led by Justice Vibhu Bakhru stated that surveillance activities, conducted under government directives in the interest of the country's sovereignty, security, friendly relations with foreign states, public order, or prevention of incitement to an offense, are exempted under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

Grounded plane with more than 300 passengers, mostly Indians, from France to land in Mumbai

A plane, which was grounded in France by authorities, operated by Romania's Legend Airlines and carrying over 300 passengers, mainly Indians, is anticipated to arrive at Mumbai airport on Monday afternoon. The aircraft was detained for suspected human trafficking and has now taken off from the airport at Vatry near Paris, where it was grounded for three days. Two dead, 12 injured as minibus plunges into gorge in Jammu and Kashmir

In Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district on Monday, a minibus carrying a wedding party skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge. Two individuals lost their lives, and 12 others sustained injuries in the incident. The bus was traveling from Balmatkote to Badar village when the accident occurred near Dhamini around 6 am, as reported by Chassana SHO Suman Singh.

Kharge explains inability to meet VP Dhankhar as he's away from Delhi, via letter

Additional security deployed in J&K's Poonch amid search for terrorists

Additional security personnel have been deployed in the Poonch district following the ambush on two Army vehicles by heavily armed terrorists from across the border last week. The deployment is part of efforts to address the security situation and conduct an ongoing search operation in the forested terrain of Dera ki Gali, where the attack took place.

 

Officials have also confirmed the presence of additional forces in the Bafliaz area of Poonch district. New cabinet will work for betterment of the state: MP CM Yadav
