SC refuses to entertain ex-IPS officer's plea against cancellation of nomination papers from Birbhum
The top court today refused to entertain a petition of former IPS officer Debasish Dhar challenging cancellation of his nomination papers. Dhar was given a BJP ticket to contest the Lok Sabha polls from West Bengal's Birbhum. The nomination papers of Dhar as a BJP candidate was cancelled after he failed to produce the 'no dues certificate'. He had resigned as an IPS officer recently.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted "one more opportunity" to Patanjali to file the original page of each newspaper in which the apology was issued. The SC bench said, "There has been a marked improvement." "There was only Patanjali earlier, now there are names. We appreciate that. They have understood," Justice Amanullah said. The top court had asked Patanjali to re-issue the apology after the initial one was smaller.

Go First's lenders consider liquidation after court order on planes
After a court order allowed lessors of Go Air to take back their planes, lenders will meet later this week to talk about the future course of action for the bankrupt airline, including liquidation. "There is no value left in the airline after the court order and chances of revival seem very grim," one of the bankers said. The airline owes a total of Rs 6,521 crore to its creditors, which include Central Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, IDBI Bank and Deutsche Bank.
