Army Chief Manoj Pande to visit violence-hit Manipur today
Army Chief General Manoj Pande will be visiting Manipur today to review the security situation in view of the recent violence there, said Indian Army officials.
They said the Army Chief would be briefed by the Eastern Command officials on the measures taken to bring the situation under control.
There have been violent communal clashes in Manipur due to the Manipur High Court (HC) directing the State to pursue a 10-year-old recommendation to grant Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the non-tribal Meitei community.
Four Delhi flights diverted to Jaipur due to bad weather: Officials
A total of four flights coming to Delhi from different cities were diverted to Jaipur due to heavy rain and bad weather, Airport officials informed on Saturday.
Meanwhile, flight operations at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport were also affected on Saturday due to rain and inclement weather.
The airport authorities have advised the people to contact the airlines for getting updated flight information.
"Due to bad weather, flight operations are impacted at Delhi Airport. It is advisable to contact the airlines concerned for updated flight information," the Delhi Airport said in a statement on Saturday.

The Indian Overseas Congress has released a promotional video inviting Indian Americans for an exclusive interaction with visionary statesman Rahul Gandhi during his visit to the US next month.
Congress leader Gandhi, 52, is scheduled to arrive in the US next week on a three-city tour.
Starting with San Francisco where he is scheduled to interact with students at the prestigious Stanford University, Gandhi will also address a press conference and have meetings with the lawmakers and think tanks in Washington DC.
He is slated to conclude his week-long trip with a large public gathering in New York on June 4.
India logs 425 new Covid-19 cases, active infection tally down at 5,259
India saw a single day rise of 425 new coronavirus infections, while the number of active cases has decreased to 5,259, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Saturday.
The death toll has increased to 5,31,859 with three fatalities, which includes one death reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The COVID-19 case tally was recorded at 4.49 crore.

US lawmaker introduces bill to declare Diwali a federal holiday
US lawmaker Grace Meng on Friday introduced a bill in the US Congress to declare Diwali as a federal holiday in the US.
"Today, I was proud to announce the introduction of the #Diwali Day Act, my bill that would make Diwali a federal holiday. Thank you to all my government colleagues and the many advocates who joined me to express their support," Meng tweeted on Saturday.
Diwali, also known as Deepavali or the Festival of Lights, is one of the most important festivals in India.
The Diwali Day Act would make Diwali the US' 12th federally recognised holiday.
