Windfall tax on domestically-produced crude oil cut to Rs 1,850 per tonne

The government has reduced the windfall tax on domestically produced crude oil to ₹1,850 per tonne from ₹2,100 per tonne, effective Saturday. This tax, known as Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED), applies to crude oil, while the SAED on the export of diesel, petrol, and jet fuel remains at zero. The new rates will be in effect from today.
