India to organise second edition of World Food India 2023 from November 3-5

Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Jal Shakti Prahlad Singh Patel on Wednesday informed that the second edition of the global mega food event, World Food India 2023, is being organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI). "India is one of the fastest-growing economies with many investment opportunities, especially in the food processing sector. US President Joe Biden arrives in Tel Aviv as Israel-Hamas war enters 12th day

US President Joe Biden arrived in Tel Aviv on Wednesday to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and show support to its Middle Eastern ally as Israel entered into the 12th day of war against the Hamas terror group.

 

The US President was received by PM Netanyahu at the Airport. The US President's visit comes amid an attack on a Hospital in Gaza which claimed the lives of hundreds present in and near the premises.

India allows export of over 1 mn tonnes of non-basmati rice to 7 countries

The government on Wednesday said it has permitted exports of 10,34,800 tonnes of non-basmati white rice to seven countries, including Nepal, Cameroon and Malaysia. The export is permitted through National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL), the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification.

The BJP on Wednesday released the names of its candidates for 12 assembly seats in Mizoram, where polls are slated to be held on November 7.

 

In a separate notification, the party named Bhavna Bohra as its candidate for the Pandaria assembly seat in Chhattisgarh, where polling will be held in two phases on November 7 and November 17.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 511 rural skill development centres in the name of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan in Maharashtra on Thursday via video conferencing. The PMO said in a statement that these centres are being established across 34 rural districts of Maharashtra. They will conduct skill development training programs across various sectors to provide employment opportunities to the rural youth, it said.

Amid Israel-Hamas conflict, US warns citizens not to travel to Lebanon

The US State Department has updated its travel advisory for Lebanon to "do not travel" citing an "unpredictable security situation" amid ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah on the Lebanon border. The travel advisory level for Lebanon was raised to Level 4 "Do Not Travel" on Tuesday "due to the "unpredictable security situation related to rocket, missile, and artillery exchanges between Israel and Hezbollah or other armed militant factions," according to the advisory.
