Portion of Rishikesh-Badrinath NH-58 damaged in Chamoli, traffic stopped
Amid incessant rainfall in parts of Uttarakhand, a portion of the Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway-58 between Purusadi in Chamoli district was damaged on Tuesday.
According to the district administration, a 250-metre stretch of the highway in Purusadi was damaged because of which the local administration had to suspend the movement of traffic.
Price pressure in food items to be transitory; domestic disruption to keep inflation elevated: FinMin
The finance ministry of Tuesday said the inflation in food items is likely to be transitory as preemptive measures by the government and arrival of fresh crops will cool prices, even though global uncertainty and domestic disruptions may keep inflationary pressures elevated for the coming months.
In its Monthly Economic Review for July, the ministry said going forward, while domestic consumption and investment demand are expected to continue driving growth, enhanced provision for capital expenditure by the government in the current fiscal is now leading to crowding in of private investment.
Punjab farners' protest: Security tightened at inter-state borders
Security has been stepped up at the inter-state borders of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh on Tuesday in the wake of a call by 16 farmer bodies to hold a protest here to seek compensation for losses caused by floods, officials said.
In Chandigarh, security personnel have been deployed at all entry and exit points to prevent farmers from entering.

Trump is also barred from intimidating co-defendants, witnesses or victims in the case including on social media according to the bond agreement signed by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, Trump's defense attorneys and the judge. It explicitly includes posts on social media or reposts of posts made by another individual on social media.
