Explosions were heard over the Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Dahab on Tuesday, Reuters reported citing Egypt's Al Qahera News TV. Govt cleared 746 applications till Nov under PLI schemes for various sectors

Total 746 applications have been sanctioned under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes for 14 sectors till November 2023, including pharmaceuticals, white goods, and electronics, according to an official statement on Tuesday. The schemes, with a cumulative outlay of Rs 1.97 lakh crore, aim to boost India's manufacturing capabilities and exports. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry reported that beneficiary companies have established units in over 150 districts across 24 states, contributing to an investment of over Rs 95,000 crore. This has resulted in production/sales amounting to Rs 7.80 lakh crore and the generation of over 6.4 lakh jobs as of September.
