Electoral bonds data: Lakshmi Mittal, Sunil Bharti Mittal's Airtel, Anil Agarwal’s Vedanta on list of donors

Steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, billionaire Sunil Bharti Mittal’s Airtel, Anil Agarwal’s Vedanta, ITC, Mahindra and Mahindra, and a lesser-known entity called Future Gaming and Hotel Services are on the list of purchasers of electoral bonds, according to the Election Commission (EC) data made public on Thursday evening.

Supreme Court issues notice to SBI for not disclosing electoral bond numbers

The Supreme Court today rapped the State Bank of India (SBI) for not sharing the complete data on electoral bonds. The top court issued a notice to the SBI for not providing details on electoral bond numbers and thereby not fully complying with its previous order. The court made it clear that electoral bond numbers, which link donors to recipients, must be disclosed by the lender.

"They [SBI] have not disclosed the bond numbers. It has to be disclosed by the State Bank of India," Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud said.

The Supreme Court directed its registrar (judicial) to ensure that data filed by the Election Commission (EC) before it in sealed cover is scanned, digitised. Once data is scanned, digitised, the original documents should be returned to EC, the court ordered.

Seller of Army uniforms in Rajasthan held on espionage charges

Officials have stated that a man who used to operate an outlet selling Army uniforms in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district has been arrested on espionage charges.  Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) Sanjay Agarwal said that Anand Raj Singh (22) was arrested on Thursday for allegedly collecting information of strategic importance for the Army and sharing it with three female handlers of Pakistani intelligence agencies through social media.

Russia begins voting as Kyiv ramps up aerial attacks

Russia began voting on Friday as Kyiv labelled the vote a "farce" and launched a series of aerial attacks on border regions. Kyiv ramped up its bombardment of Russian regions just across their shared border. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee hospitalised after suffering head injury

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee was hospitalised on Thursday after she was injured in a fall in the vicinity of her home. She was admitted to the state-run SSKM hospital. The West Bengal CM was later taken to her residence after she received stitches on her forehead. Mamata was accompanied by nephew and TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee.
