Three Jharkhand women killed, five injured after ground caves in
A police officer said that three tribal women were buried alive and five others injured in Jharkhand's East Singhbhum district when a heap of soil caved in on Wednesday. The victims were digging earth to collect soil to plaster their houses in Matiayana village within Baharagora police station limits when a heap of soil caved in, killing three women on the spot, circle inspector Anil Kumar Nayak told PTI.

Calcutta HC bars Bengal cops from arresting NIA officials
Seeking a stay on police proceedings stemming from an FIR against its officials, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had moved the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday.The NIA has submitted in the court that when they detained two local TMC leaders in Bhupatinagar for their role in a blast case in 2022, they were attacked by the locals. The NIA also stated that the state police, instead of taking action against the unruly crowd, had lodged an FIR against the central sleuths over molestation and theft charges.

Patanjali case: Supreme Court pulls up Uttarakhand govt for not taking action
The top court today pulled up the Uttarakhand government for not taking action against Patanjali Ayurved for violation of law. The Supreme Court told the Uttarakhand government that it is not going to let it free. "All complaints were forwarded to the government. The licensing inspector remained quiet, there is no report by the officer. The concerned officers should be suspended right now," the SC said.
